MNDK-1
Proof-of-Concept

Is a single 6U CubeSat that will validate the complete end-to-end system—5G Direct-to-Device (D2D) satellite communication, onboard AI edge processing, multispectral/thermal imaging, and cloud delivery—using just one satellite before committing to the full constellation. The mission is intentionally scoped to a single, well-instrumented industrial region, with a 18-24 month timeline from kick-off to first data.

The 6U CubeSat

(20 × 10 × 34 cm, 12–15 kg class)

Is built on a modular platform with deployable solar arrays delivering 40 W orbit-average power and a 90 Wh battery. With a multispectral and thermal camera suite plus a high-resolution optical camera, a 5G NTN/D2D software-defined radio for direct device connectivity, and a radiation-hardened NVIDIA AI accelerator (up to 100 TOPS).

Intelligent Orbital Data Pipeline

In a 500 km sun-synchronous orbit that ensures power effiency, the satellite will make 4–6 passes per day over the target industrial zone. During each ~10-minute pass, any 5G D2D-enabled device can connect directly to the satellite exactly as it would to a terrestrial cell tower—no additional ground infrastructure required.

The satellite receives IoT telemetry and images, fuses the data streams using pre-trained AI models (leak detection, contamination mapping, predictive maintenance), compresses or discards low value data, and downlinks only actionable insights plus selected high-resolution images to the ground station or directly to the customer’s cloud tenant within minutes of acquisition.
